Umas is a young man from the Bunun tribe in Taiwan. One day, he rescues a Taiwan black bear cub trapped in a hunter's trap and helps it reunite with its mother. Although the mother bear appreciates Umas for saving her cub, she still harbors resentment towards humans for the harm they inflict on their kind. In response, Umas appeals to the Bunun tribe's chief, who is also his grandfather, to protect the Taiwan black bears. His grandfather agrees with Umas and rallies the tribe to remove the animal traps in order to safeguard these forest spirits.
Umas是一個臺灣布農族的青年，有一天他救了一隻被野獸夾夾傷的臺灣小黑熊並帶他找到他媽媽，他媽媽雖然感激Umas救了小黑熊，但仍不諒解人類對他們的傷害，於是Umas回去請求布農族的族長，也就是他的爺爺，保護臺灣黑熊，他爺爺也認同Umas並且召集族人，去除野獸夾，來保護這些森林的黑色精靈。
